so basicly ftc is dead now? why shouldnt we be able to see which buffs/debuffs our enemy has? I dont see whats wrong with that.

We knew this was coming, and even ZOS stated what was possible in beta would not be true come live...

Some of the things I can see and really don't make a lot of difference in the game. But others are really nice things to have around.
They pretty much ruined what I liked about the addons..
No more self buff timers
and
Cant see what type of damage

It seems they were loose on the reigns for beta and it allowed people to really take too many advantages almost to the point of being exploitive so they have strapped on the choke collar for the time being until they can get control of what and what will be allowed until they are past initial release issues. I am sure things will loosen up as time goes.

ZOS even stated they purposely left the API wide-open for the betas to see what people came up with...as it gave them a good indication of not only what people desired from the game, but also what holes could be exploited.
Even AFTER the changes Atropos posted on the TF forums they have a new version of FTC they are testing for release, so although some of the functionality has obviously been nullified, he says the addon still has a lot of usability....

Some note also needs to be put into the effect of Private Addons, TFC was a public addon that when coupled with others could exploit an opening in the API Interface, if TFC could do that, some less scrupulous person could and would make a private addon that was much more efficient at interrupts or could exploit some other loophole. That Zenimax took the step to open it up, look at what their customers and supporters did and reacted to it is a good thing, if after release it is shown that they clamped down too hard, I trust they will open the API a bit, a work in progress.

The only two addons I see so far that are must haves for me are:
Loot Drop - pics of loot and xp values gained
Multiple Quest Tracker
One I would like to have is:
Lorebook and Skyshard in game map locations

Multiple Quest Tracker was annoying mainly because of the bugged quests...but if everything is working, have to agree with that one...and we've already talked in Vent about Loot Drop, hehehe.
I'm sure a map-type addon will eventually come out as well...but have to see what the restrictions on addons will be come retail...
